MARINA'S PIANO STUDIO IS NOW ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS
ACADEMIC YEAR 2008-2009
We offer 2 programs:
1. The General Music Education Program
/ Children-Preparatory; Children-beginners; Teens-beginners;
Teens-intermediate; Adults-beginners; Adults-intermediate /
2. The Pre-Professional Program
/Children: Preparatory- 1&2 ; Children: Primary- 1&2 ;
Teens & Adults: Intermediate & Advanced /
High School Students can receive CREDITS for their lessons.
CERTIFICATES will be issued to all students, who will complete their program
/ the General Music Education or the Pre-Professional/

PROGRAMS
THE GENERAL MUSIC EDUCATION & PRE- PROFESSIONAL
...................THE GENERAL MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM...........................
1. /PREPARATORY-1 / ages 5,5 -6 / 2. PREPARATORY- 2 /ages 6-7/
Private piano lessons include : development of rhythmic perception, playing skills, singing, elementary theory,
improvisation, drawing, movements to music. All these activities allow to provide enthusiastic atmosphere to
achieve believe and enjoyment of the youngsters.
Two weekly lessons are 30 minutes each - / for 5,5 - 6 years old / , and 45 minutes each-/for 6-7 years old/ .
3. CHILDREN-BEGINNERS /ages 7- 11/
4.TEENS-BEGINNERS & TEENS -INTERMEDIATE/ages11-15/
Private piano lessons for people with some musical background or without it. Lessons include piano technique
, piano ensembles, elementary theory, & improvisation; songs by ear.
Two weekly lessons are 1 hour each - for children ;
One weekly lesson - 1 hour for teens.
5. ADULTS -BEGINNERS & ADULTS-INTERMEDIATE
Private piano lessons for people with some musical background or without it. Lessons include piano technique ,
piano ensembles, elementary theory. One weekly lesson /1 hour/

1.PREPARATORY -1 & PREPARATORY- 2/ages 7-9/
2. PRIMARY -1 & PRIMARY -2 / ages 9-11/
3. INTERMEDIATE / ages 11- 15 / 4. ADVANCED /ages 15 and more/
This is a curriculum-based program designed for professionally-oriented music students,who have
completed beginner level. The diverse curriculum offers intensive training for the aspiring piano students .
Professional musicians,who would like to refine their skills are welcome. Private lessons include: piano
technique, piano ensemble, theory. Composition and improvisation/optional.
Two weekly lessons - 1 hour each or Three weekly lessons /two piano lessons and one -theory lesson/.
Theory lesson is 30 minutes long for Preparatory and Primary levels; 45 minutes -for Intermediate & Advanced

OUR POLICIES
Our Academic Year - consists of 2 semesters/each semester is 5-month term/:
1st semester: September 4 - January 31;
2nd semester: February 2 - June 27

TUITION AND FEES
Tuition and fees may be paid by check or cash.
Our 1-st lesson / TRIAL LESSON / is free of charge.
Additional Fee/for new and returning students: ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE- $ 50/fifty dollars/
Tuition reserves student's lesson time and is non-refundable. Payments must be made at the FIRST LESSON
OF EACH MONTH IN ADVANCE . This is a monthly flat rate, which is normally for 4 or 8 lessons. There are,
however, several month with 5 or 9 lessons. These extra lessons serve to make up for an occasional student's
absence or holiday.
A late fee of 3 % to your monthly tuition will be added for those, who pay monthly tuition later.
Student's lessons will be interrupted if accounts fall behind in payment. There is another option of paying your
tuition :BY ONE LUMP SUM FOR EACH SEMESTER . Thus you will pay your tuition 2 times a year: in
September and in February. In this case you will get a huge 10% discount.

ATTENDANCE
Good attendance is imperative to a musician's progress .
We operate on a time schedule. Please,be on scheduled time. To rearrange the schedule and accommodate to any
changes are difficult. We have commitments beyond giving piano lessons. We would appreciate it, if you will
come by a few minutes before the scheduled lesson. Clean hands and trimmed fingernails – the etiquette of a
pianist. We require a minimum number of practice minutes : 90min per week for beginner and 150 min.
for intermediate student. NUMBER OF MAKE-UPS permitted in a semester: 2 lessons per semester- in case
of illness or family emergency only.

Textbooks and sheet music will be provided by the teachers.
Scores should be returned to us at the end of the year.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Our students take advantage of playing their programs in front of an audience to showcase their skills and
talents. Many of the students, especially the youngsters, enjoy playing their own compositions as well.
Annual recital are held at STEINWAY RECITAL HALL /MidtownManhattan/
. Another concerts will be scheduled during the Academic year.
